Firefighters in St. Landry Parish have new life-saving equipment at their disposal.

Fire District 7 chief, Louis Fogelman says volunteer firefighters now have access to a combination tool used for extrication. Chief Fogelman says prior to this purchase, the department had to rely on nearby emergency officials.

The equipment was purchased with a $10,000 Homeland Security grant
