EUNICE — The Eunice Police Department has
a new software program to manage police records, which will
enhance its ability to input and document pertinent information
pertaining to an incident as soon it happens.
This software builds upon the recently added CAD system
provided by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
“The new software has many different features to generate
accurate reports and information, which will bring greater
accountability to the police department and accessibility to
criminal information”, said Parish President Don Menard.
The software will stop the duplication of efforts in the
paperwork process among Eunice police officers because once
someone is booked into the system their information can be
accessed by other officers. This software will be compatible
with the Opelousas Police Department and sheriff’s department,
which will allow for better coordination and information sharing
among these agencies.
The total cost of the software was $40,075.00 and was
purchased with homeland security grant funds provided to the St.
Landry Parish Government Office of Homeland Security and
Emergency Preparedness.
